The Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung starts a new sub-brand to sell messaging smartphones called “BizBee“. The Samsung BizBee collection is inspired by the BlackBerry series by Research in Motion (RIM). The first BizBee smartphone will be the former Samsung SGH-i780, being refreshed and renamed to Samsung BizBee i780.
The “Samsung BizBee” sub-brand represents a range of mobile smartphones that offer full connectivity and functionality wherever the user might be. Reading emails, working with documents and of course surfing the web is what Samsung adresses with their claim “This is my office.” And although Samsung have not explicitly said that the BizBee concept will run on Windows Mobile, the first BizBee i780 certainly does.
The Samsung BizBee i780 isn’t exactly the same as the original i780, because it has now been “refreshed” with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. That’s on top of a smartphone that combines a 320 x 320 pixel 2.6″ touchscreen and the QWERTY keyboard (known from the BlackBerry), comes with WiFi, HSDPA and GPS support für quick data transfer and easy navigation.
